This is one of my favorite Lebanese recipes! I learned this recipe from my mother. It is simple, quick to prepare and super delicious!
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp of cooking oil (I use this Avocado oil)
- 1 ½ lbs of ground beef (I like to make a big serving)
- 4 cups of chopped frozen spinach, thawed (frozen spinach works best for this dish)
- ½ cup – 1 cup of chopped fresh coriander (depends on taste, I prefer 1 cup of chopped coriander)
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 tbsp minced garlic (or 2-3 minced garlic cloves)
- ½ tbsp Arabic spices (if you don’t have Arabic spices, use ground cumin with black ground pepper instead)
- 1 tsp Himalayan pink sea salt
- 1 cup of water
Directions:
- Cook beef on medium heat until brown (7-10 minutes).
- Once cooked, add onion, garlic, Arabic spices, salt and stir for a 2-3 minutes, until onions caramelize.
- Add chopped spinach, coriander, water, and stir.
- Turn heat on high and bring to boil.
- Once boiling, cover with lid. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 20-30 minutes, until spinach darkens.
- Serve with brown rice or quinoa. I also like to top it with some hummus
Enjoy!
